This letter is the invitation to attend an appeal against a rejection of a request to work beyond the expected retirement date. The letter sets out the details of the right to be accompanied at the appeal meeting, and the role of the companion. Employers are obliged to allow an employee to appeal against a decision to reject a request to work beyond the expected retirement date. This document meets the legal requirements for arranging the necessary meeting, and advising the employee of his/her rights.
